EPCO: Health Care Fixture Whips, IC Whips, and Power Equipment Whips

The unseen infrastructure product specific to virtually all light fixtures and LED luminaires, is Engineered Products Company’s (EPCO) Fixture Whips. More importantly, EPCO’s fixture whip category includes not only standard Fixture Whips for Commercial and Industrial Applications, but also Health Care Grade Fixture Whips designed specifically for medical-related facilities.

How Does EPCO Define Its Fixture Whips for Health Care Facilities?

Standard and Illumination Control — and available in multiple configurations.
12 AWG:  The National Electrical Code specifies standard wire gauge size used for wiring health care facilities.
20 Amps:  This standard circuit for the majority of health care facilities in the United States. The “screw-in” type lock-nut connector is contractor preferred and primary connector used in all health care facilities.
Certification: UL Listed and Certified for use with all Lighting Fixtures or LED luminaire system applications
Availability: Immediate “in-stock” inventory of 120 or 277 VAC fixture whips configurations available for shipment.

Health Care Fixture Whip

Our Health Care Fixture Whip connects incoming power supply conductors directly to a Light Fixture or LED Luminaire.

Illumination Control Fixture Whip (ICFW)

EPCO’s ICFW whip is an energy-saving solution easily integrated into a lighting system to lower energy consumption and optimize facility lighting when integrated with digital lighting controls for dimming and switching. Clearly applicable for new or retrofit construction applications.

Standard Health Care Fixture Whips and Illumination Control Fixture Whips (ICFW) are configurable for 120 or 277 VAC applications and meet UL certifications. In addition, the ICFW meets NEC standards for powering lighting systems and class 2 or class 3 lighting control circuits within the same whip.

Power Equipment Whips (PEW)

Similar to our Standard Fixture Whips, PEWs, can be used to provide a power source to a variety of “remote- site” medical equipment as well as outdoor lighting. PEWs can also be used to energize electric motors for like fans, remote fluid pumps, and other outdoor equipment where flexibility, protection from liquids, vapors, solid materials, or the environment is required.

In addition, labor-saving PEWs can be used in hazardous locations or for direct burial in concrete encasement applications and available in 4-foot or 6-foot lengths. Our “custom” capability” enables configuring PEWs to a Contractor’s specifications.

Why Should the Contractor Buy EPCO Fixture Whips?

All EPCO Health Care, Illumination Control, and Power Equipment Whips are ready to use right out of the box. These are the cost-effective choice and best solution to save the contractor time and reduce their labor cost when compared to buying and terminating expensive MC Cable or making non-UL listed fixture whips on the job site.
