SAN DIEGO, CA – September 21, 2009 – Trade Service announced today that effective October 2009, the company will begin providing country of origin labeling (COOL) in its eDataFlex® and TRA-SER® lines of product and pricing services. The new content, consisting of a 3-digit country of origin code, along with a “made in the USA” component percentage, will be supplied at the item level and included for those manufacturers who make this information available.
It has become increasingly critical today for electrical distributors and contractors, given certain market and trading requirements, to understand where the products they buy, sell, and install are manufactured. “The addition of these new data elements comes as a result of a growing demand from our customers who use the product data they receive to make critical bidding and purchasing decisions,” states Tod Moore, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Our customers rely on us to stay current with their changing needs and adding COOL to their data feed is one more way we’ve been able to accomplish this,” adds Moore.
The new information will begin to appear in the Trade Service electronic products in October 2009 and will expand throughout the database, as more manufacturers begin to make this content available.
