SAN DIEGO - February 24, 2006 – On
February 10, 2006, Trade Service Corporation
acquired O/PUS, the office product updating
service division of ECI2. The companies
will continue their longstanding partnership,
believing that this separation from
ECI2 will be good for the industry and
good for O/PUS customers. Trade Service
has been serving the office product
marketplace for many years, following
its acquisition of Moore Services, familiar
to many dealers, wholesalers, and manufacturers
as the industry standard in office products
data updating since 1919.
An
industry leader in content development
and standardization, Trade Service plans
to bring many new and innovative elements
to O/PUS customers and to the office
products industry at large. The acquisition
also bodes well for O/PUS dealers who
heretofore had relied exclusively on
ECI2 as their sole source for business
software and content. “The O/PUS business
is a natural fit for Trade Service,”
states Tod Moore, Vice President Sales
& Marketing. “With our 75-year history
of providing similar services to other
vertical markets, we are well-positioned
to offer O/PUS dealers additional value
that has previously been unavailable
to them.”
Trade
Service is communicating extensively
to O/PUS dealers over the next few weeks
to welcome them as new Trade Service
customers and involve them in the company’s
plans to meet and exceed their content
updating needs well into the future.
