SAN DIEGO – February 23, 2005 – Trade
Service, a leading content provider
to the electrical, plumbing-heating-cooling-piping
(PHCP), and industrial vertical markets,
today announced that it has formally
launched the Manufacturer Alliance Program
“MAP.” The program is designed to offer
manufacturers the opportunity to partner
with Trade Service to provide the most
accurate and up to date product and
pricing information available. Through
this program, manufacturers and Trade
Service can collaborate upon how this
information is exchanged, managed, and
communicated in the marketplace.
“Manufacturers have
requested greater participation controlling
the way information representing their
products is managed”, said Mike Podoris,
Program Director, Trade Service. “We
are excited to offer a program which
honors their request and rewards them
for continuing to work together in a
way which more effectively services
mutual customers and synchronizes the
supply chain.”
Traditionally, distributors
have been burdened with how they receive
a range of product and price communications
from manufacturers. Many distributors
turn to Trade Service to work with their
manufacturers to provide information
in a standardized format compatible
with their business systems. The Manufacturer
Alliance Program is intended to take
manufacturer relationships a step further
with no cost to participate. The program
is designed to establish an enhanced
relationship which can promote added
efficiency to how product and price
information is communicated and managed.
“The industries we serve
have long recognized i2 Trade Service
as the benchmark of quality information,”
said Tony Dubreville, President and
CEO, Trade Service. “Formally strengthening
our relationship with manufacturers
is another way to demonstrate mutual
commitment to customers, while giving
manufacturers increased recognition
and product visibility.”
