SAN DIEGO, CA – August 19, 2009 – Trade Service announced today that Cert-In Software Systems, Inc. (Bakersville, NC), a leading provider of contractor estimating and business management software, has completed an integration to Supplier Xchange™, Trade Service’s latest Internet-based offering that allows contractors to request and receive customer-specific pricing, in real-time, from their preferred suppliers.
Cert-In’s integration to Supplier Xchange provides tools and utilities that its customers can use to maintain a tighter control over what price is used to prepare an estimate. Previously, generating a bid price came through the use of an average multiplier that converted the manufacturer’s suggested wholesale price (“trade Column 3”) to a bid value. Cert-In can now offer its customers a better method that simplifies all these tasks.
Eric Davenport, President of Cert-In Software, states, “I recently visited a client who had been quoted a price on a large hospital job that was thousands of dollars less than what his system had produced by factoring off the industry published trade price. He liked the lower quote, but it had taken him a full day to get it, going back and forth with his supplier. We then ran the materials for this job through Supplier Xchange, and the same supplier quote was returned electronically in about two seconds. My client’s exact words were, ‘Wow, that was fast…it took me 24 hours to get that same quote on paper!’”
Trade Service released Supplier Xchange on January 1, 2009 and to-date, more than 2,500 supplier locations and 450 contractors are participating, having collaborated on 8000+ jobs, worth over $300 million.
“Supplier Xchange has grown more than expected over these past 8 months, indicating that it is meeting a significant need in the market for a better, faster way to receive accurate quoted pricing for bids and job estimates,” said Tod Moore, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Trade Service. “We are pleased that Cert-In has recognized and responded to this same need on behalf of their customer base.”
Supplier Xchange is a component of TRA-SER® SX, Trade Service’s new, fully Internet-based electronic catalog and pricing service, and is provided at no additional cost to all TRA-SER subscribers as well as to all suppliers who subscribe to Trade Service’s electronic pricing services.
