SAN DIEGO - August 18, 2004 – Trade
Service, the leading source of complete
content management and information solutions
for the construction industry, announced
today a formal collaboration with Timberline,
a Best Software company, which provides
financial and operations software for
the construction and real estate industries.
The collaboration focuses on the needs
of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical
contractors by leveraging the combined
strengths of Timberline Office Estimating
and Trade Service’s electrical product
and price information database, TRA-SER®
Pro. The two companies also plan to
communicate on a regular basis to address
customer needs, explore ideas to enhance
the functionality of the interface between
Timberline Office and TRA-SER Pro, and
consider joint messaging opportunities.
Trade Service currently
produces TRA-SER Pro, the construction
industry’s most used content resource
and pricing service. A core set of TRA-SER
Pro pricing data is now included in
the Timberline Office Electrical Knowledgebase,
which is part of the recently released
Timberline Office 2004. Electrical Knowledgebase
users can supplement and update their
TRA-SER product and price information
through a subscription-based service
available directly from Trade Service.
The data is easily transferred to Timberline
Office Estimating through an interface
developed by Timberline.
“This collaboration
is a perfect example of how two companies
can meld their core competencies for
the benefit of their mutual clients,”
said Timberline President and General
Manager Curtis Peltz. “The combination
of Timberline Office Estimating suite
and TRA-SER Pro offers our customers
the material pricing information and
estimating capabilities they need to
succeed in today’s competitive business
environment.”
“Timberline’s commitment
to serving the estimating needs of contractors,
engineers, and builders, coupled with
our dedication to providing current
and accurate pricing content, is the
formula for a successful collaboration
that can deliver effective, customer-driven
solutions," said Tony Dubreville,
President and CEO of Trade Service.
“As our relationship grows, we look
forward to exploring other initiatives
that can provide similar benefits within
our common markets."
