Several Data Fields Added
In response to feedback from our customers, Trade Service is pleased to announce the availability of several new data fields in our popular Unified Tab Delimited (UTD) format. The following table provides the technical details and describes the anticipated use models for the new fields.

Change Symbols describing the type of update that has been done to an item. This field gives the same information as the SYMBOL field in PFMS, and is offered as an aid in making the transition from our PFMS products to our eDataFlex products. It includes all the PFMS symbols, except the “R” symbol. The hierarchy of symbol precedence is :
- “C”: Item Number or UCC Number changes. The “C” symbol overrides all other change symbols.
- “+” or “-“: Price Changes Price change symbols override all changes, except UPC Number changes.
Other price set symbols:
- “D”: Discontinued items
- “U”: Unlisted items
- “Q”: Obsolete items
- “$”: POA items
- “X”: All other data changes

Granular break-down of most changes marked with “X” in legacy_update_status. This field may have multiple codes, each separated by a comma. (For example: If an item has a UPC, part number and ps_dscnt_schd_cd change, the field would reflect C, K, P. If an item has brand name, commodity code, part number, description and ps_dscnt_schd_cd changes, the field would reflect B, K, P, T, S.
The hierarchy of symbol precedence for this field is alphabetical:
- “B”: brand_name (Brand Name) changes
- “C”: item_num (Item Number or UCC Number) changes.
- “E”: fulltech_description (Full Tech Description) changes
- “K”: ps_dscnt_schd_cd (Discount Code) changes
- “L”: Weight and/or Dimension changes
- “N”: product_name (Product Name) changes
- “P”: i2_cat_num (TSC Catalog Number)
- “S”: comm_code (Commodity Code) changes
- “T”: invoice_description changes
- “X”: All other data changes (for example: mfr_cat_num (Mfr Catalog Number changes), xref_group (if applicable), price_group_code, etc.

- “$”: changes to POA status
- “+”: price increases
