header record. |
| |
| 4.)
Nu-Way Manufacturer/Product Line
Code |
| |
A.)
Three numeric characters identify
the manufacturer.
|
B.)
Two numeric characters identify
a specific product line of
a manufacturer.
Example:
|
| |

|
| |
16 |
Ignition |
|
|
| |
| 5.)

sheet using the six most significant
elements in the manufacturer's
price sheet number.
Example:
|
|
| |
| 6.)
Price Sheet Color |
| |

day and last two digits of
the year.

|
|
| |
B.)
Most recent supplement date.
Example:
|
|
| |
 |
| |
| |
| 1.)
"P" - This single code
identifies a part record. |
| |
| 2.)
"A" - This single code
identifies the part number and
popularity code record. |
| |
| 3.)
Part Number |
| |
A.)
The part number as shown exactly
on the Manufacturer's Price
Sheet, normally in price sheet
sequence.
|
B.)
13 characters alpha and numeric.
Where a slash, dash or space
appears in the price sheet,
it will be included in the
part number. If the manufacturer's
part number has more than
13 characters (rare cases),
Nu-Way will eliminate the
slash, dash or space closest
to the last character in the
part number.
Example:
|
|
| |
C.)
In cases where the
customer does not use slashes,
dashes or spaces in his/her
part numbers, it will be necessary
for the customer's software
to eliminate these characters
from the Nu-Way number so
the numbers will match.
|
D.)
If the part number on the
price sheet has preceding
spaces, it will be necessary
for the customer's software
to adjust.
|
| 4.)
Popularity Code |
| |
A.)
Shown in up to 3 alpha and
numeric characters when, and
as shown, on manufacturer's
sheets.
|
B.)
Manufacturers use different
codes for the same popularity
ratings. Refer to manufacturer's
sheets.
Example:
|
|
| |
 |
| |
| |
| 1.)
"D" - The single alpha
code identifies a description
record. |
| |
| 2.)
"1" - Single digit |
| |
| 3.)
Product description: An 18 character
field, alpha and numeric starting
at position 3. |
| |
| Note:
The description record, when transmitted,
will follow the part number record.
It will only appear on initial
loads except as part of price
updating on special request. |
| |
 |
| |
| |
| (Up
to 3 UPC records per part #) |
| |
| 1.)
"U" - 1st position |
| |
| 2.)
Position 2 - 20 UPC codes ending
in position 20 and right adjusted. |
| |
 |
| |
| |
| 1.)
"Q" - 1st position |
| |
| 2.)
The long part number (Ford, GM,
etc.) will start in position 2
and extend to position 20 if necessary. |
| |
| 3.)
This record will follow the part
number record, description record,
and/or the UPC record, if the
latter is being sent. Long numbers
will be sent upon request only. |
| |
 |
| |
| |
| 1.)
"P" - This single alpha
code identifies a part record. |
| |
| 2.)
Price Level (P/L) |
| |
A.)
Same as #2, "A"
in header records.
|
| 3.)
"B" - This code identifies
the part price or supersede part
record. |
| |
| 4.)
Price# (PR#) (1, 2 or 3) |
| |
A.)
Each price level may have
up to three prices, designated
by 1 numeric character.
|
B.)
The PR# shown (1, 2 or 3)
advises you which U/M# (see
#5 below) and which corresponding
price is being given.
Example:
On a jobber price sheet
that contains prices for "each",
"carton", and "case",
the data is presented in this
manner:
|
| |
P/L
= J |
PR#
= 1 |
U/M
= 01 |
Price
= $7.50 |
| |
P/L
= J |
PR#
= 2 |
U/M
= 27 |
Price
= $75.00 |
| |
P/L
= J |
PR#
= 3 |
U/M
= 02 |
Price
= $300.00 |
|
| |
| 5.)
Unit of Measure (U/M) |
| |
A.)
Unit of measure code is a
two digit numeric code asssigned
by Nu-Way to identify pricing
characteristics as shown on
the manufacturer's price sheets.
The complete codes may be
found on the unit of measure
listing sheet.
Example:
|
| |
01
= Each |
39
= Cut Foot |
| |
02
= Case |
04
= Core Price |
| |
06
= Per Hundred |
95
= Quart |
|
| |
B.)
"50" in U/M indicates
that in all price levels this
is a superseded part. The
superseding part number will
be in position 7-19. "50"
will be found only on a supersede
record. If both prices
and a superseding number
are indicated for a part number
on the manufacturer price
sheet, Nu-Way will
provide the prices,
not the superseding number.
|
C.)
Core prices will be sent whenever
a U/M code 04 (core price)
or U/M code 70 (core set price)
occurs in position 5-6 of
a part price record. The core
price will be in position
7-14. It is possible to have
different core prices on W/D,
jobber, and other price levels.
Our system shows core prices
on each level if the manufacturer
so indicates. A 03 (exchange
price) will be followed by
the core price 04, 79, etc.
|
D.)
Unit of measures "1"
through "9" are
shown as 01, 02, 09, etc.
The first character is a zero.
|
E.)
The following units of measure
have no price with them:
|
| |
13
- Discontinued |
49
- Repair and Return |
| |
22
- Price on Availability |
50
- Superseded |
| |
42
- No Charge or No Core Value |
94
- Custom |
|
| |
F.)
Unit of measure "45"
indicates that the price has
an assumed decimal point of
4 places. Unit of measure
"47" has an assumed
decimal point of 3 places.
Example:
|
| |
U/M
45 - $.1128 or $2.6517 |
U/M
47 - $0.014 or $25.944 |
|
| |
| 6.)
Price |
| |
A.)
Eight numeric characters.
Left zero filled, assumed
decimal place (except as in
"5 - F" above).
Example:
|
| |
Price:
00000510 = $5.10 |
Price:
02538604 = $25,386.04 |
|
| |
 |
| |
| |
| 1.)
"N" - 1st position |
| |
| 2.)

any new part number provided by
the manufacturer since their previous
price sheet. |
| |
 |
| |
| |
| 1.)
"B" - 1st positon |
| |
| 2.)
13 positions, 3 - 15. Will show
any part number that was listed
in the previous price sheet by
the manufacturer, but is not on
the most recent price sheet. |
| |
 |
| |
| |
| 1.)
"T" - The single alpha
code identifies a total record.
There will be one total record
per product line. |
| |
| 2.)
The preceding product line code.
Positions 2 - 6. |
| |
| 3.)
Number of parts sent. 6 numeric
characters indicating the number
of part numbers transmitted for
the preceding product line. Positions
7 - 12. |
| |
 |
| |
| |
| (Applicable
to ASCII, non-zipped files, telecommunication-only,
non-tapes, diskettes, or email) |
| |
| 1.)
"$" - One character
(dollar sign) identifying the
end of transmission. |
| |
| 2.)
"EOJ" - Three alpha
characters representing "End
of Job". |
| |
 |
| |
